Productive SEO - 6 Key Ways to SEO

Every webmaster’s dream is to have an enormous, steady traffic so they can profit from it. One of the traffic-generating techniques that is frequently used is Search Engine Optimization. It will not only connect your visitors to your site, but it will also pull up your ranking. If you’d like to succeed with SEO, you cannot afford to ignore these 6 key ways:

1. Never link your site to a blacklisted site. This usually happens when webmasters are looking for faster way to improve their link popularity. Instead of resorting to white hat techniques, they turn to link farming. When major search engines identify the link farm, all websites that links to it are penalized.

2. Keep your content professional. Major search engines refuse to rank web pages that talks about racism or those that are gender-biased. They also look down to those that dispute or challenge other person’s religion. So, to make sure that you’ll get indexed, stay away from content that can offend anybody.

3. Avoid cloaking. Cloaking is a process of presenting a webpage version to a human visitor then another completely different version to search engines to get better ranking. This can initially pull up your page ranking, but it can seriously hurt your standing in the long run once search engines identify your unacceptable strategy.

4. Build powerful links. Linking to relevant websites with higher page ranking than you are is a powerful SEO strategy. So, start looking for websites that share your topic and send email to their webmasters to request reciprocal linking or better yet, one quality inbound link.

5. Use relevant keywords throughout your website. To have your website indexed by search engines, sprinkle relevant keywords on your content. You can also use your keywords on articles titles and of course, on your domain name.

6. Submit your site to search engines. Make it easier for search engines to find your site by directly submitting it to them. Concentrate on search engines that can promise better traffic like MSN, Yahoo! And Google.

Succeeding In Internet Marketing With A PPC Strategy

A unique instrument, Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing is most commonly used by e-commerce sites to draw pre-qualified traffic to your internet business. In case you are not familiar with the words PPC then type a common term, like “cars” in Google. You will come up with an index of approximately 10 natural or free searches besides which you will also notice PPC ads that are displayed at the sides and top of the majority of search results in Google.

These commercials look very much like the index of free search result but they all are commercials deliberately placed by businesses to attract targeted traffic to their websites. At my website of natural skin care, you might come across my ad under the words like “natural soap”. I pay only when somebody clicks on that commercial. This enables me to fix the highest amount I am ready to shell out for a commercial click. A few key words, that is, the terms used in search engines, are not expensive and may cost little per word. However, the majority of keywords have a competitive edge and the keywords that have a high demand, like refinance, may come at quite a few dollars for each click.

PPC advertising appears to be the Holy Grail to most newcomers just beginning their first site of e-commerce. However, it should be handled both with some caution and careful planning. Choosing a keyword that has poor performance can cost you heavily.

The following are some important ways to a successful pay per click marketing campaign:

* Install a tracking code in your website - every PPC ad host like Google, MSN Yahoo!, provides code snippets that you can keep in your checkout process on your site, letting you to track the keywords that really pull sales to your e-commerce. This method alone is enough for using PPC - what your publicity medium can help you in tracking?

* Calculate a cost per sale that your budget can bear. Usually, your cost per sale should be linked to the profit you can get from making a sale. Basically, cost per sale is your total PPC spend divided by the number of sales you make. If you spend $100 and make 10 sales that your Cost Per Sale comes to $10. I have given an overview of my cost per sale for October 2007 at the end of this article. For everyone this may have different meaning, but my average sale runs about $40 and my average cost per sale approximately $15. Probably I break even on the first sale - my plan is to develop repeat clients and make substantial profit on the second and the following sales.

* Keep a close look at what you are spending. When you first begin with a PPC campaign you may spend more than what you can afford. You need to do this for sometime letting the law of averages to catch up and conclude what keywords do the trick for you. I would suggest letting your campaign run on a real set of keywords for almost thirty days before an appraisal of your campaign. All this while you will be looking after developing a set of keywords that work for you.

I sincerely hope that you and your business find this information useful.

Productive PPC Advertising - The Art of the PreSell

Not many advertisers will bother sending you from a PPC ad to a sales page, and those that do won’t stay around for long. Quite simply, if you want to make your PPC advertising as productive as possible you need to use a top notch pre-sell page.

It’s quite simple really. The Internet is big. You are small. There’s plenty of places that your prospect can get what your selling or something similar. If they click your add promising them the world’s coolest widget, and they land on a page asking them for their money, they are most likely going to turn around and walk out the (cyber) door. You haven’t given them a reason to buy. All they have is a price.

Instead, send them to your presell page. Tell them how YOUR widget outperformed all other widgets in an independent widget test. What’s more, world champion widget user Tommy Widget actually uses this same widget that you are offering. In fact, it’s so good he won’t use any other widget. You get the picture.

Now I’m not going to go into detail on writing copy that sells, but I will tell you that most any copy sells better than no copy. Don’t insult your lead by expecting them to buy your product with only two lines to tell them how good it is. On the flipside, don’t give them 92 pages of salespitch to read through either. If you have done your keyword research right you are catching this prospect AFTER they have done most of their research. They should know the basics about widget purchase by now. Your job is not to explain widgets to them, but to endorse your widget over all other widgets. When you have convinced them of that, the sale is yours.
